Raivyn C’Imone Hearne, better known as Re’h, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress (or “actor”). Her career as an American Idol contestant, lead vocalist of the US Army’s preeminent band, and graduate of the prestigious Popular Music program at the University of Southern California began in community and church choirs in her native Houston, Texas.
“This powerhouse vocalist possessed the ability to fill the room with her big voice,” writes meaww.com, “and can do so with and without toting a microphone in hand.”
Re’h has sung for crowds of thousands at sporting events and community gatherings across the United States and millions on national television. Her vocal performances and songs of healing and hope have been recognized by Toni Braxton, Lionel Richie, and her mentor, legendary jazz pianist Dr. Patrice Rushen.
With a growing audience and a catalog of songs rooted in classic soul and modern R &B, Re’h is currently crafting her debut album. Having already logged thousands of hours as a performer and collaborator, Re’h aspires to a recording and touring career that includes making music for film and television, as well as lending her innate talent for impressions to voiceover and animation.
Re’h’s songwriting style is that of a sophisticated chanteuse with a storyteller’s heart. “Singing made me feel beautiful while growing up during difficult times,” says Re’h. “Music was always there for me.”
She allows her unique life experiences to permeate her performances. Born and raised in a single-parent household in Houston, she was the fourth of six children whose love for song began in the church. After earning an Associate’s degree in Fine Arts from Houston Community College and serving in the U.S. Army National Guard, Re’h sought a transfer to California and was promoted to lead vocalist of the 40th Infantry Division Band in the United States Army. While providing humanitarian aid during the pandemic, she was selected as a contestant on Season 19 of American Idol (ABC.)
